I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

I have been using Project 5 for the last month or so and have to say that for me, the workflow is a revelation. I used to find I'd quickly lose that initial spark that I had when starting a song using Cubase or Sonar (especially cubase).
There are a few things about P5 that are a bit annoying (CPU hit is quite high when using some VST's - Guitar rig and Dimension)and Audio editing's not great) but again, the workflow - you can't beat it.

No, but then again I don't suppose much does. Was that really part of the question here anyway?advaya wrote:Yeah, but does it run on Linux?

I think that the workflow with Ableton Live and Tracktion are quite good if not better than P5.tonymead wrote:There are a few things about P5 that are a bit annoying (CPU hit is quite high when using some VST's - Guitar rig and Dimension)and Audio editing's not great) but again, the workflow - you can't beat it.

That was my early morning attempt at a joke... I just thought I'd throw in a question that the forums seem to be inundated with... Only because of the nature of the original post...JohnVulich wrote:No, but then again I don't suppose much does. Guess I shoulda asked if you need to know music theory to use it... That might have been a little funnier...

I so wish I could understand why everyone keeps saying that P5 has such a great workflow. I actually bought P5 version 2, just to see what the hype was surrounding Dimension so I have the program, but I've never been able to warm up to the "1 window with everything in it" design concept. I always seem to wind up doing more scrolling and more resizing of windows than I would have to if for example, the piano roll had it's own, large window. What am I missing? Is there a way around all the scrolling and resizing?
