Will Sampletank ever support release samples?

I've been using ST2 (and SS2) quite a time and find them very useful. However, there are several little things that would make these instruments a lot better for me. One of them is a support for release sample triggering. Though it may seem not very noticeable, but the presence of release samples makes most instruments sound much more 'alive'. For example, if you try to play an electric bass guitar in ST2, it sounds pretty good until you release the note, because then comes sudden silence which sounds REALLY weird. Such a sharp transition could be smoothed out by increasing envelope release time or adding small amount of ambience, but then it becomes to sound really weird when you play some fast passages due to overlap of release trails from adjacent notes producing quite uncomfortable dissonances. On the other hand, adding a natural release sample will eliminate these problems and make the instrument sound natural in all cases, even when playing fast stacatto-kind parts, without adding 'artifical' ambience. Another example, is a sampled electric guitar put through an amp simulator with high-gain distortion. It sounds much more realistic (especially rhytm parts) when you add a natural release noise caused by finger rising from a string. It has very low volume level, but when high-gain amped it produces subtle squeaking sound which is very natural and pleasant. For a piano, the presence of hammer and string release sounds add realism too. Actually, almost every instrument will benefit from release samples. Also, this feature is very easy to implement by programmers (just a few code lines, I suppose). And I even found some Rhodes release samples in SS2, so at least someone hoped that such a feature would be implemented.

I put some release samples in SS2 just in case this feature gets added at some point. I like release sample triggering too. But, I am not the coder so I can't just put it in myself. These sort of requests from users are good to hear so feel free to put it in the suggestion box at www.sampletank.com I do think at some point that release triggering will be possible.
We use release triggering in other formats that allow it. In fact, we've even done some going back as far as the Akai in 1997. It can be cool. It's not always entirely necessary but sometimes it does give it an aspect of realism that is nice. Sometimes it is good to get squeaks and slides from guitars by putting those sounds on separate keys though (because triggering on release can sometimes be TOO much). It depends on if the performance noise is chromatically pitched or not.
