Hi
Yesterday I tried using FL as a dxi plugin within Sonar 4 demo but a caption said LAMEENC file was missing and so it couldn't open. do you happen to know what't the problem? is that file a FL or a Sonar one? I found a file with that name inside FL but anyway it says it's missing...
I thought at first it may be a limitation of the Sonar demo version, but I can actually open other dxi synths...
any help?

afaik , LAMEenc.dll is what FLS uses to convert to .mp3 ...
i have no idea why that should prevent FLS from opening as a dxi , in Sonar ...
have you tried the FLS forums ?...

yes I did, but they told me that file comes with winamp and similar programs. But the fact is I can't open it because of that.
First, when i try to open it, it says lameenc.dll is missing and FL can't open.
strange...

perhaps , it would be best to re-phrase your question , in the FLS forum , to ascertain if there are any users that are successfully using FLS as a dxi , in Sonar ...
not mentioning the LAMEenc.dll issue may provide a more general response ...
i'm not at all familiar w/ Sonar , but i assume they have a forum , as well ...
if you are able to log-in , as a demo user , the same question there may elict a response ...
two people here who are quite conversant w/ Sonar , who come to mind , are ew , and whyterabbit ... neither use FLS , iirc ... there must be others , as well ...
edit:
i see you have posted in the Sonar forum ...
or someone w/ your problem has ...

Hmmmm, I got invoked here (+1 Scroll of Summoning, I reckons). Unfortunately I dont know FLS at all, so I can't say what the issue might be. I'd be surprised if FLS didnt run at all, Im sure it would be be relatively well known.
Do you know if the error is being reported by FLS itself, or by Sonar?
I know the demo of S4 doesnt come with the VST-DX wrapper, so its possible it just doesnt load unbundled plugins, although its a weird error to report if it doesnt.
One thing you could try is explicityly add the FLS folder to your system Path. In W2K you can do this if you open the System Control Panel, and select the 'Advanced' tab, and then 'Environment Variables'. You'll find 'Path' in the lower section under 'System Variables'. Try adding whatever is appropriate (ie something like)
;C:\Path\To\FLS
at the end of the list of folders given (dont forget the semicolon if its not already at the end of the list)
You'll need to reboot after changing this, BTW.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Thanks. I KNOW FL does work perfectly within Sonar as a plugin, there are more than one KvRer who use this combination. I guess it must be a problem with the demo...
