drum kit for tracktion 2

i'm new to home recording. i have a presonus firebox, tracktion 2, running on an amd 2700+ xp, 2.66 ghz, and 1 gb of ram.

i'm looking for good sounding vst drums, as well as a good synth. any suggestions?

Have you tried RMIV that comes bundled with Tracktion 2?

As for synth, there are only 7 trillion of them...any idea of what kind of sounds you want to get with a synth? Trance? Prog rock? Blues? Polka? All of the above?

Hi,

For free drum sample sets: nskit from Natural Studio, and Ruffrider and Easy rider from Michael Kingston.

Battery, DR008 and RMIV are commercial drum sample modules with huge kits.

"Good synth" is a difficult, but Synth1 is sort of a legend free virtual analogue, inspired by Clavia's Nordlead. PolyIblit is another good sounding synth, and I just have to mention Crystal, which is great for athmospheres. Be careful with the loads of free stuff, one only needs a handful of synths!

I've been quite satisfied with freebies, I've only fallen for Tassman 4 (physical modelling modular monster) and the Waldorf bundle (Attack drum synth and PPG Wave 2v).

i'll take a look at those tonight, after work.

as for the synth sound, i'm not sure. i'd say i am influenced by the synth sounds of coldplay and u2. but i also listen to tangerine dream.

Depends which version of Tracktion 2. If its the download version sadly we don't get the bundled plugins
