Good news. IK's german reseller has put up several test stations with all the plugins and sample CDs they are reselling..
That means you can test run SS2, ST2, Amplitube and so forth. As I understood theit press release, you'd find everything they have, e.g. all the expansion tanks are on there, too.
Cool,

Here's the list of music stores that got a test station
Amptown, Hamburg
Sound & Drumland, Berlin
Musik Produktiv, Ibbenbüren
Music Store, Köln
Musik Schmidt, Frankfurt
Thomann, Burgebrach
Music Shop, München
Klangfarbe, A - Wien
Musik Produktiv, CH - Niederlenz

that's great you guys got some demo stations. i have seen some in canada but i dont think they feature ik plugins, more just hosts like cubase or logic type setups. also usually meant to show off control surfaces that cost big bucks.
in grade 12(maybe 5 or 6 years ago) we took a music trip to germany:
Kulmbach - this is the town we stayed in. i lived with a nice family for 12 days and every day we went to a new town.
these are the ones i remember:
Bamburg
Coburg
Nurmberg
Bayreuth
Wurzberg
there were more of course but from what i recall
we visited a piano factory in one of these towns. they make beautiful pianos but i cant remember the name of the company
Bamburg was the only one that had a notable music store and i didnt get to see it but it was supposedly a "synthesist's paradise". sorry for going OT but i like my memories.
I blew up a korg M1 in one of these towns cause my teacher had the power conversion TOTALLY wrong. it was embarrassing to be behind a smoking Korg with all the friendly german concert goers watching.
luckily it costed only 50 bucks to repair when we got home.

Sorry, I'll have to make a correction to my statement. On their internet site, they wrote
Squids? Maybe contact them and ask them to include SR/IK sounds and plugs?

They are SR and IK's german reseller aren't they? So I assumed SR/IK stuff would be on there. Now, I looked thru the detailed list of what's on the TestStation, but no mention of SR/IK products. The BestService Teststation allows you to listen to 300 sampling CDs and play with 60 plugins and virtual instruments...

OK, I guess there was a misunderstanding on my side. It seems that the company Best Service is not the german reseller of IK products. That's what I was told when I called up the store Musik Schmidt in Frankfurt.
But I also asked them directly about testing ST2 and SS2 or the Expansion Tanks and Sonic Capsules. They said they'd happily prepare a teststation with ST2, SS2 and ETs or SCs for me, I'd just need to make an appointment 2 days in advance to give them time to prepare a computer.
So for anyone close to Frankfurt who want to demo before buying...
BUT be fair - if they take the time to demo it there, you gotta buy it there, nowhere else
