For those that use Cubase Sx & Logic

At the moment, I am only using Cubase SX 2 for sequencing. My question to those of you that use both SX & Logic....Is there a VSTi for Cubase that is similar to Emagic's ES2??

I love the sounds the ES2 can create, and would love to get similar results without learning how to use another sequencing program.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I think you might like Wusikstation as an alternative. Nothing that ships with Cubase is as good as that thing, I can tell you now!

It's true that none of the bundled SX plugs are as good as ES2.

Neither Wusikstation nor Cameleon are very much like ES2 though. I'd try FilterscapeVA or impOSCar as possible ES2 replacements.

That being said, I do think Embracer, Monologue and a1 are great synths, I use 'em all the time.

Thanks for the great replies! Being that I have not physically used the ES2, the interface wouldn't be that big of a deal. I am definitely more intrested in finding a vst with similar sounds created by the ES2.

Sorry, I don't get it: you haven't "physically used" the ES2, but you want something that sounds like it? How do you know what it sounds like?

^Well, it's quite simple actually. I am only using Cubase at the moment, it's what I started with & what I've stuck with. However, I do have a lot of friends who do use the ES2 in Logic. I like the sounds it can create, so I was looking for something similar for Cubase.

Understood. I was hoping you had some audio examples of it, I'm most curious. You'd think with the wealth of synths available for VST, one of them could hold a candle to it!

^ You would think! That IS kind of what I am looking for.

If I did have an audio sample of it, it would be on my production PC at home (I'm at work atm), which has no internet connection.

Plus, I have no way of uploading it until we get our server up and running.

You might want to have a look at Linplug's Albino2... its architecture isn't exactly the same as that of ES2, but sonically it's not *too* far off, and more to the point, it's a good workhorse synth and I find myself loading it up for almost every type of sound. I'm a Logic user, and I use the ES2 pretty often, but I think Albino is more versatile...
