The local weekly in my town just reviewed an album made entirely from free VST and energyXT.

Very interesting. I'm sure it happens all th time nowadays. You gotta wonder what other musicians and producers reactions are to this though. Are they hardcore music fans and ingenious producers because they have the skills to get great sounds out of free gear? I'm sure the traditionalists are gonna they suck because everyone is having access to the freebies and potentially having similar sounds...which is just not true.
Any old school producers here that have a comment on this? It would be interesting.
By the way, my setup consists of Energy Xt and all freebies as well(not including a few hardware synths and samplers that I hardly use anymore,a midi controller, and a mixer...but besides that its all freeeeee!)

I think there should be a forum or at least a thread with a contest for songs made with just freeware(except maybe just one payware-probably the host). That would put a twist on things.
