True, but Terrafly pales in comparison with what Google Earth can do. And I'm sure it will only improve in terms of resolution. I bought Keyhole and now have GE and am using it to plan the configuration of a home and studio on some land we own.

And it's great fun to fly around in 3D with your music in the background! Cheaper than airline tickets and never any clouds.

You should try Downtown New Orleans - They've mapped the buildings to 3D blocks, and you can actually walk down the street between the buildings.

Tres cool.
Trying to change the world by posting on a forum is like crying on the Sun to put it out.

I'll try that - I'm flew out to our Houston office on Sunday with a plan to fly out to New Orleans to see a customer today, but the visit was cancelled 'cos of the hurricane - I guess Google Earth is the next best thing!

i tried, but the city is flat here, no relief :?

"adjust tilt" until the horizon appears, you see what i mean?

the city is "paint" in 2D, which is very cool already.

now, enter "kathmandu, nepal" in the search "fly to" engine. once there, adjust tilt, and go to the north. enjoy!

the 3D building thing only works in some US cities AFAICT ...
