So is there a remedy to the GUI bug? Just got ST-v 2.0.8 AU-MAC version. Yes I have notified tech support @ IK. Does the update v 2.0.8.1a @ users area a remedy? It seems more for the Logic users.

I bought Sonik Synth etc., in the recent group-buy, and I must say I am pretty dissapointed. (I haven't installed ST or Amplitube yet.)
The GUI problem referred to in other posts on this forum make SS unuseable for me. The knobs just wiggle madly and go to zero.
I have e-mailed IK tech-support, but their on-line help system says that they will get back to me in a "...few days..."
Maybe I should have paid them for the product a "...few days..." after I rec'd it, I wonder how they would have like that!?!
argh.
Sonik Synth Free worked fine, I feel a bit duped on this purchase, can't reccomend this stuff to anyone now.
FWIW...
Digital Performer 4.12, OS X 10.3.9

Can someone finally comment on this and when it will be resolved??????[/quote]
hello..i can try. try closing your extra windows when tweaking the knobs. only have the mixer or track view open. with only these windows open i have not had the jumpy knobs. if i have any windows other than that, knobs jump like crazy!
hope this works for you!

btw, im on OSX.3.6, DP 4.52,

The problem is that when you have to many DP windows open the interface will have a knob flicker problem. As of now the only solution until its fixed is to close down any extra windows.

If you have the performance window open , close it.
At least for me it remedies the problem. I have the performance window @ the top- to the right of the control window
It must be linked somewhere on the right side of the screen? It would be nice for a fix, but I'm alright so far.
Don't even try it with DP4.6 yet-mucho problemo.

Apologies in advance for the long-ish post, this is important to me and I want to save others from this hassle! Mr Tunes, just to clarify, the problem I am talking about is those jumpy knobs in Sonik Synth using DP (4.X) on OS X (10.X)
I am getting mixed messages here...
IK support here in the forum say to close other windows (I'll try that today), but this is the reply I got from IK support via e-mail...
"Unfortunately this is a known issue. It not depends only on Sonik Synth 2 we tested several plug-ins (Not IK Multimedia plug-ins) and get the same problem we found a workaround:
When you start a session in DP4 (every version..) you can use Default Templates for the session.(File -> New ..) You can choose if you want to start with a "New" blank session (first choice on top) or you might want to use one of the templates.
IF you choose the "Empty" template then Sonik Synth 2 will have the ... bug. If you start with "New" (no template) or ANY other template everything will work with no prob. So the workaround is to start sessions with New or ANY template.. but NOT with
"Empty" template. We are working together with MOTU in order to fix the problem. Thank you for your request."

This is what I wrote in response to that email:
"Thanx for your quick response.
Two problems tho-
1. Your fix won’t work, not for me anyway. Using SS on an EXISTING DP file is where I am experiencing problems. I have a bunch of existing projects, when I try to add a SS track to them, I experience this problem.
What’s the work-around for that? I cannot just scrub everything in these projects and start again!!
2. If this is a known issue, why is it not on your web-site? Why aren’t buyers warned BEFORE they buy? That is REALLY poor form on your company’s part. It leaves a very bad taste in my mouth...
Cheers,
BK"

Contrary to their e-mail, I have NEVER experienced this problem with other plugs in DP.
Well, pretty dissapointing really. I think this might be the last purchase from me of any IK/eSoundz product.

BKK-OZ, as far as I know, it would be perfectly reasonable for you to ask for a refund if it's really such a pain to work with, and there was no indication of the problem before your purchase.
I'm on Windows, so I've only ever had relatively minor problems with ST2 (which are going to be fixed in 2.1, awesomely enough
support came through in the end, I believe - I wonder if Sonik Synth 2 will be updated with the same bug-fixes that 2.1 has - that would make sense), but I sympathize completely - hope the bug is fixed soon.

Thanx for that, but living in Oz makes it pretty unlikely that the refund option will be viable (shipping, etc. etc.).
The funniest thing is that SS Free didn't have these problems - this and the confused replies from IK tell me that they don't really know what is going on with this problem.
Glad to hear you are doing well tho!

Is SS the same as St as far as engine...so maybe the same issue is there?
Don't try ST or SS with DP4.6, obviously IK behind on the issues due to DP moving forward. Reports are abound with the update, bugs are behind the updates...still lingering.
Like I previously stated its works for me. I did check here prior to purchsing, which I really did not get a definitive answer-which is rather sad. But there is a work around. Its just a important part of the whole plus/rompler thing it could be rather non usable for some.
Hoping that ST2.1 will bring on the shine!!

We just did some testing on a system here with DP 4.6 and the flicker problem doesn't happen. So this is good news... I will post some more info soon.. anyone with 4.6 have any flicker problems?

I have ordered DP 4.5 (4.6 is a free update from 4.5 which is a pay-for-upgrade) but MOTU (company behind DP) don't have a distributor in Australia @ the moment, so I can't get my copy of 4.5/6, I am stuck on DP 4.12.
So, can you guys test 4.12?
-I mean, DP 4.5 only JUST came out, so really, SS & ST should both be capable f working on DP 4.12...
MOTU's tech support is better than most, but this isn't really their problem, given that it occurs with only IK products, and not others, so I wouldn't expect them to be able to do much about it.
Despite a few quirky problems 4.6 has been very stable for most, so I don't know why you would say not to try it with DP 4.6?
