Mac OS 9 Hosts

I am in need of an inexpensive, or even free host for mac os 9 (i am running 9.1 on my second machine). The "ugly vsti interface" is okay, but unfortunately it only allows you to load one instrument at a time, and doesn't have any support for effects plugins. Ideally i would like to be able to load a few instruments and run them through some vst effects as well.

Just buy Computer Music magazine. CMuzys will be ok. 5 VST syths and the built in effects should do....
Now you need a DVD drive though....
There's 8 tracks. If you need more than that, you're just not trying. (Think about it)

You want MultiVSTShell from http://www.wildfrontear.co.uk/standalones.html - free, 4 VST instruments, add FX etc.
You can record outputs to files, but probably the best way to use it is to feed it into Protools Free http://www.digidesign.com/ptfree/ via Direct Connect - then you can record/edit your MIDI/audio inside PT.
Also check out some other OS9 stuff at my page :
