I'm in the same boat - I really like MixSaturator, and the compressor is ok, but the others are joke I think. But i've found that Voxengo Tube Amp (free) is a very good substitute for all except the tape settings. Voxengo AF Tapebus (not free) is extremely good too, but latency means it's a mix effect best used with offline processing.

I'm all about TBT's Tube Booster for driving sounds and I own Mixsaturator and Vintage Warmer, so that should tell you something.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

why are you all recommending this? Because of it's name?Jonny X wrote:Link http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1740.html
It doesn't add much audible saturation at all!

both plugins you mentioned aren't primarily saturators...Jonny X wrote:I think that if you really drive it then it does, its not a transparent style compressor. I think that the Pocket Limitor is even better.
I reccomend them because I looked for a saturation fx about a fortnight ago and that was my fave.
as GreaseTube is an old TBT plugin you'll have to visit the TBT ftp-server - you'll find the link (and the needed username/password) on the TBT website...I'm gonna try both GreaseTube (link? will find it I'm sure) and Tube Amp tho (because I have no tube sound gear, and its useful on mixdown)
GreaseTube and TubeAmp play in totally different leagues b.t.w. ...
(I second the recommendation of TabeBus though)

Damnit! I meant Saturated Driver, sorry. Don't know where Tube Booster came from. And don't forget about the "x2" button on that bad boy.

I personally have not tried Mix saturator, but cannot recommend JSMagneto enough for tape style saturation. I'll have to google it to find it out there, as I don't remember it's location off-hand.
I also recomend the various TBT plug ins for varying degrees of saturation.
