Its a sample of the samples that you can run at any sample rate.
Actually, I rarely use anything except Mtron for vst stuff these days..

Has anyone made samples of the M-Tron? I was going to but since that would be a sample of a sample of a sample, I was afraid I'd open a rift in the time-space continuum . . . or somthin'

No prob.emdot_ambient wrote:rift in the time-space continuum

One reason I love M-Tron is that it accurately reproduces the way tapes run out -- no looping. The ends of some notes get mangled, just like in the real thing. Rough, grotty, crude, authentic, lovable.

I want a sample based emulation of one of the older Akai samplers, with an excellent GUI, of course.

You're out of luck then - there was that virtual Akai S1000 but I guess that project has been dead for years already

That's unfortunate, because I was thinking it would be great to have a "one to one" VD (as in virtual digital, not venereal disease) recreation of something like an S1000. It would, of course, sport either samples of Akai samples, or very deep models of Akai samples, even modeling the inherent quirks of old Zip drives.jmh wrote:You're out of luck then - there was that virtual Akai S1000 but I guess that project has been dead for years already
