I bought a pocket pc a while back thinking that it would come in handy. It has but I just dont like the music apps available(griff, syntrax).
I checked out Bhajis Loops for palm and it really looks amazing. It reads sf2, has a built-in sample recorder so you can "hum" and edit ideas, instrument layering and mapping, plug-ins including bufferlock, reverb and 5 band vocoder, and automation facilities.

I've bought the bhajis loops a while ago. Didn't have time to really dig it yet. It's very powerful for a Palm app, almost as good as the early Fruity Loops (the workflow is also quite similar to Fruity Loops). It even supports automation. Editing is a bit difficult due to the small screen. Haven't tried the effects yet as my Palm isn't powerful enough. I mainly use it as a sketch tool for short loops and such.
