Using my DJ software to make DJ "Beatmatched" mixes I would like to apply effects like reverbs, delays wherever I feel like it anywhere bewtween the songs, what are my options here? Do I record the mix and then use an Editing software to apply the effects? I tried this but when I apply an effect to a file, it applies the effect to the "entire" file so what other methods are there, anyone?

Well, yes, but this what I am trying to avoid, see I want to be able to aply the effects while listening to the tracks, adding effects, for me, is something I cannot do at random, I never know where in a song I will need which effect, I just have to do this by "feel" so I need to apply the fx "on the fly" either while playing back a track or even better, while I am actually making the mix. I cannot simply open a track in any editor, play and throw in fx here and there.
I guess this is a question beter suited for "DJ's" as they will be more familiar with what I am trying to achieve even though a lot of DJ's don't use effects like Reverbs, Delays e.t.c. Well I am hoping, someone will come up with something. The only thing I can think of here is to route my pc's output through an fx processor and route that processor to a cd burner so I can apply the fx from the Hardware processor at any time but I don't have a standalone burner so I have to come up with another solution.

Say Mike, haven't we discussed this all before? Did you ever try weather the host program called "Live" can do the mixes you want? And what about Acid?
And please, try them out for some hours before you dismiss them, because the workflow may be very different and may take some getting used to. I hope you'll find a tool that works for you, because the currect DJ program obviously isn't!
Also, with a 4-channel soundcard you do not need a CD-burner. Then you can keep it all within the PC.
