I use cubase SX 3. And I struggle with melodies and making them come together.

Usually I make a riff and then repeat it lots of times on different tracks with no stops and little melody flow.

I've got flow in terms of layers down.

And I come across psycle.

It's actually EASY to see what INTERVALS are happening in the song at places instead of a bunch of little dots in a box with this tracker thing.

And CPU usage is amazing for the built-in machines.
6 percent of a 500 mhz pentium 2 for a great e-guitar emulation! where synth1 uses 5.8. And with a integrated sound card!

I am actually enjoying creating simple stuff like this.

I think my music could deeeeeeeeeeefinitely benefit from some more musical structure.

Psycle can provide it.

Instead of a piano roll sequencer, you've got a topdown view of your notes, like this.
The skin is changeable, which means that you don't have to put up with

like that one.

Psycle has got the connector view like eXT, which is awesome, and the native plugs are very low CPU.

I like this one native plug, Sublime because its got a cool *almost* guitar sound.

LIMIT:

either you like them trackers or not. I do, because like I said, they give you a lot more representation of what note (C-4 instead of a little bar).

Give psycle a try, you'd be surprised.[/img]

i started out using psycle cause it's free. i use tracktion nfr now and i haven't gone back. i found psycle to be a little touchy and crash happy. my main complaint was that tracker list. i gotta have a piano roll for fast editing. that tracker setup made automation near humorous.

i'll never forget the prog that introduced me to vst, though
