recently i did a home studio set up for my buddy. I installed Xp service pack 2 on his comp and performed most of the audio tweaks.
then i went about installing his audio softwares namely Nuendo 2.0, Reason 3.0, Waves 4.0 and hypersonic 1. however when i was casually checking out the softwares after restarting i noticed that nuendo was a little slow to respond to my keyboard transport commands. in the sense i would press space on my keyboard but it would start playing only after a couple of seconds. well i thought maybe the session i was checking was too much for his machine to handle , but when i opened a new session with no tracks recorded, i still faced the same prob.
I have not yet installed the sound card and t'was a wild thought whether that could be the reason. But when i tested reason with a full fledged session i did not face this prob. Besides i have played nuendo sessions before thru on board soundcards. His soundcard will arrive in a couple of days. do u think once its installed the prob will be solved? or is it something to do with nuendo?
well till date i have never come across such a problem with nuendo. have any of you guys faced such a prob? Its a brand new pc. Config is P4 2.8 gHz, intel d915gav board, 512 ddr ram
nuendo too slow to respond! any clue?

What soundcard driver is being used by Nuendo? Check to make sure that a true asio driver is being used and not a higher latency wdm or other driver. Also what audio card is being used?josevin2000 wrote:recently i did a home studio set up for my buddy. I installed Xp service pack 2 on his comp and performed most of the audio tweaks.

hey parky, yep apparently twas a problem with driver selection. like i said the sound card is coming in only tommorrow. as of now we were monitoring thru the on board sound card only.
but the prob was initially i had selected asio multimedia as the driver. when i switched to asio directx full duplex, the prob vanished..
well i never anticipated it to be prob with the driver. but thnaks dude.
