P.S. what "peoples in the business"?

Of course im talking hi quality mp3 here (say 224 at least).
Dont be f**king purists.
Shit...I advise you to get some equipment that makes the difference clear to you.

And don't you dare tell me I can't hear the difference, and don't get so worked up about it.

You all should mellow out, and not worry about what one person does or doesn't do. It's all about

Here, concentrate on what this does:

Looks stunning for the DUB heads here. A 'hold' button would of make it the ultimate delay. But I can live without it.

I'd also just like to add a gratuituous, "I love my host" here.

I have this equipement, thanks.

Period.

I'll agree with easymode on this one. While it's not a lossless format, at 192kpbs a human can't hear the difference.

I still would only use an mp3 if I had to, for whatever reason that might be. I had a huge problem when JMC asked me to ogg the included samples to save space.

i can hear the difference between a cd and 192kps mp3 in a second.

I'm happy for you (of course u use lame, with "quality optimisation, right ?)
But then, youre condemned to use wav, whereas i can use mp3, so my zipped loopfiles are very small.
Finally, im glad i have bad ears.

whats lame?

Post

I think it depends somewhat on the program material, but I'm with Chase- I can hear the difference at 192kps (or higher) especially on individual vocal tracks and bass tracks. On drum hits the difference is more subtle. I think Ogg is a better format, but it introduces artifacts as well. For vocals, I've found any compression format to be almost unusable.
But back to the subject at hand... Buckskin, the new graphic EQ looks great. Do you have much info about it? Will we be able to route different frequencies to different sends? Pan specific frequencies? Morph between banks?

Youre kidding me, right ? You dont know what lame is ?

I made a little test for you if you like playing.
In this wav are some mp3, will you recognise em ?

to Buckskin: thanks for posting pics of Directwave - I've been dying to see what it looked like. I must know: are ALL the knobs automatable? (In particular I want to know if the Sample Start and Loop Start knobs can be automated)
