Ive reigned in my tendency towards impulse buying and Im evaluating everything before I whip out the credit card.
Im almost ready to take the plunge and buy SS2 But I have one last querstion first. Does SS2 utilize the newer/better engine that will be available in ST 2.1 if not will there be a free or chargeable upgrade to the patches.
On a different subject the free combos that I downloaded for ST2, will they still work with the 2.1 sounds upgrade.

So, back to serious. If you can manage to do it, it's the best to get ST2XL and SS2 because of the Crossgrade option. And you might like to call them and ask for a special "bundle" price, if you get both at together...

Normally I shouldn't answer questions about the future, but this one's pretty straight-forward.
If you (are going to) have the SampleTank2.1 engine, then you will be able to use the Sonik Synth 2 sounds in the SampleTank2.1 plugin and take advantage of the new features. The Sonik Synth 2 sounds will be compatible with the new engine.

The current Sonik Synth 2 plugin does not have the newer 2.1 features. The patches don't need upgrading to work - they are compatible with the new engine.
