Does this host act stable for you?
For me it runs good, but then gets buggy, I can' really explain it, but it acts weird.
I think it might be all the vsti's converted to DX, but I'm not sure.
I'm asking becuase I'm not sure if I should just completely do a clean install of XP or something. If it's solid for everyone else it must be my machine.
BTW
SX is working fine for me.
thanks,
dw

dunno - up to now for me it seems to be the most stable&reliable running sequencer I ever used...
- the included plugins are so good though that I rarely use any vst/vsti with it.
(apart from a few (highly stable) gems like GreaseTube, GCO-1 and AF-Tapebus/Chorus)

The first two plugins I threw at it both had problems. Hypersonic simply crashed the program immediately. Vsampler 3 (VSTi, not DXi)loaded fine until detached a window and tried to float it. The interface of Vsampler went wacky and half of it was invisible. I put managed to get the window back in Vsampler's rack, but it never was the same after that. Apparently, the wrapper doesn't handle windows like in Vsampler which can be any size and can detach themselves from the main part and back. The other thing that wasn't happening with Project 5 v2 was my ASIO driver. With WDM, it worked fine. I switched to ASIO and the interface went into extreme slow motion. I noticed eventually that the CPU was hitting 100% when it should have been more like 30 or 40%. I also always had problems with Sonar and certain VSTi plugins with regard to the wrapper. Pretty much the same as what happened with Project 5 V2. Static interfaces weren't a problem, but the ones that resized themselves sometimes did so without the wrapper following suit. Meaning, as the interface of the plugin was enlarged, the wrapper stayed the same size. If I resized the wrapper, I could see the rest of the interface, but when I decreased the size of the plugin, the wrapper stayed the larger size. Anyway, I have the latest update of Project 5 v2 installed and the latest update of Vsampler 3.

I'm very particular about what VSTi's I use with it and ditto VST effects.
Since I cleared out alot of junk it runs perfectly fine I must confess .
No dropouts , crashes etc etc ...
I can't for example use CoFX's Vectrik with it.
And certain freeware vst's are problemtic.
As stated though I just trashed them and everything works great

I suggest heading on over to the Cakewalk P5 forum and see if they have any advice...dusted william wrote:Does this host act stable for you?

HI
It's a funny world - I stated here that P5 V2 was the most stable host I have as yet used - next time I used it, it crashed like the clappers!!!
On the whole though I think it was something to do with my DAW as I have generally had solid performance from it.
Try using just the built in software and see if that makes any difference - I did feel that the dx wrapper was good but as I said I did have a day of woe with third party VST's crashing.
Flipper.

I had a problem with Dimension, but I can't track down why.
I've had problems so far with room verb, tassman 3 and GURU in P5v2.
Glad to see it is not just me.
