since 6th grade ive listened to trance, but i sort of left off it around 3 years ago. I've always found DnB better to dance to as well as spin. Trance seemed more euphoric in my younger years of middle school and early highschool because as you get older your cheese thresh-hold strengthens. In 6th grade there were a few tracks (Armin - Communication, Energy 52 - cafe del mar) that i would lay in the dark with headphones extremely loud, and it opened me up into meditation. It literally put me into a trance. But like i said, not into cheese anymore. Grew out of it.

so today me girly doesnt like me anymore and my friends are kinda shitty so im leaving them. Came home today feeling seriously bummed. Not the regular manic, kind, either. blah bl-bla...

Anymeows, needed something uplifting yet still emotional tonight, so Trance, basically. I was happier way back when, and im pretty sure trance has to do with it. Dont get me wrong i still will love DnB but trance has so much to offer (especially on drugs but were not discussing that).

Whats the point of this thread? shit idunno. Do with it what you want. And give trance a chance.

:band: all we are saying is give trance a chance :hihi:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

When i listened to the No U Turn compilation, i was also into kinda meditation, i have to say.
Trance can be in every music, jazz, bach... thats why the name "trance" as a musical style doesnt make sense to me.

i think it fits perfectly. The common structure is typically hypnotic while hard and pumping at the same time. Theres a break down that is silent and then gradually lively and then the music comes in explosively. I dont think any other genre could get away with the name except for some ambient.

To me everything that is repetitive can be hypnotic (from Philip Glass to Schranz(liebing etc).
THe structure youre talking of (break/snareroll etc) can only break the trance state of mind (if any) imho.

Of course the drugs we're NOT talking about have absolutely nothing to do with being seriously bummed , flat and not manic etc etc....
What do I know though I dont drink/smoke/do drugs  .
You left 6th grade 3 years ago WTF :? .
How old or perhaps to be more precise how many years young are you ?

Andy weatherall could of been making trance today with your oakenfolds/digweeds and sasha's but he chose his love of music over money.
