Hi everybody!
I am trying to control vst effects either inserts or send effects with my Remote25. The thing is, the only solution i have come by is using the device manager and setting up the plugin there. this works absolutly fine, but there gor to be an easier solution than this?! If you got a solution, please help me! I have tried to set it up with ohm frohmage, and it has a midi learn and assign, but the remote device is ocupied by cubase, so no luck there. I have read the manual and tried to solve the problem for 10 straight hours. Please help me!
TIA!

is this the right forum?
(ps sorry for the bad english and typos)

well aksel i'll try to help you out here...
i see u are using cubase. go to devices menu and then to device setp up. there on the right hand side u will see Setup and Add/Remove.... go to add remove where u will see a number of remotes listed. but i believe the remote25 is not listed so in your case u will have to select generic remote. select generic remote and say add....
once u do that generic remote will appear on the left hand side under the Header Devices. Now under Devices, select Generic remote and on the right hand side select setup.
this opens a setup screen which will enable u to set up your remote 25. you will have to select midi input at th top of the screen. this screen conisists of two parts.
on top u assign every knob of your remote 25 to an internal cubase fader but putting donw its midi message for each fader. in fact u can also rename the faders . there is learn option on the right hand side in case u do not know what message each knob from your remote is sending.
After u assign evry knob to the internal cubase fader, u come to the lower section. here u will select what parameter each fade will control . Cubase allows for endless flexibility. u can control just about any parameter with just about any midi messsage.
so all the best. well do go thru cubase help in case this is your first time with such stuff.......

Thank you josevin2000 for that post. Thats the post i should have had 4 days ago. So thank you very much. The thing is that i have allready done that. And what i want to do is find a simpler way. Like with VSTi that have learn you just press the button with the mouse, tweak the remote and wadaboom, its ready. I have seen some effects like Frohmage that has MIDI learn, but this doesnt help me, because i havent got a midi chan assigned to it. So what i would like to do is use the controller the same way as i use it with VSTis. Is this possible or do i have to use the device mangaer each time i want to setup a new controller? Hope this clarifies more what i want to do. I just hope some nice person out there has the solution. TIA!
(Once more, please ignore the bad english and spelling)

Firstly i think your english is okay, so dont keep apologising for it.
And finally, if cubase is your host, the the only way to control vsti's parameters in real time is by goin thru that device setup shit!!!!
I just hope some nice person out there has the solution. TIA!
yeah if there indeed is some other simpler solution to go about this then i too am keen to know about it....

Fianlly! i think i finally got it!
The solution at last. i have been working like hell and twisting my brain to solve the problem. Well at least its partially solved. Lets say you have a audio track. Add an insert like the excelent free Frohmange. The good thing about this plugin is that it has midi learn. Now add a midi track. Set the imput om the midi track to your remote controller. go to midi output, and this is the trick: set it to frohmage! Thats it! Press the pot you want to control, wigle the pot on your controller that you want to use. Done!
Now there is only one problem left, not all the plugins have midi learn. But at least you can now set up the ones that do. Good luck!
(Ps the reason im excusing for my english is because i have had posts focusing on my english and not the problem at hand)

well aksel, yes that indeed is a nice way to go about controlling frohmange, opening a midi trk settin input......... whatever...
but to the best of my knowledge non of the non free vst plugins have this midi learn function, so the only way to do it is via device setup.
