Sonik Synth 2 or SampleTank 2.1 soundset upgrade?

Hahahaha - I still remember the hiatus. Wasn't it white water rafting or something? You were going to be gone for months.

yeah i used to go up north in ontario and canoe at a camp. it was fun cause i got to be the child that i was but i couldnt produce music up there so it was like death in some ways. then one summer my health took a turn for the worst. when i went back to university that year i kind of dipped out of kvr. i actually had quite a serious surgery a year ago this past june to heal the damage done that summer. it took me 3 months to heal and i'm still healing. i showed rob from esoundz a picture of my incision at the time i think i scarred him for life.

i think a lot of us have dipped in and out as our lives changed. the odd time I PM old names that pop up and talk to them about the old days.

i dont listen much in the cafe as well, and i dont post because i've become more self-conscious about my music than a flat-chested 13 year old girl

how is this relevant? well i understand why Rellik is confused about the differences between these plugins. that's how squids ended up on this forum - cause i made this post in 2002 titled "Sampletank, Sonic Synth, What the F*#K?". i was confused cause there were these two plugins almost identical but i had no clue what the difference was between them. i didnt want sampletank, but this new thing, "sonic synth", it totally grabbed me.
unfortunately the thread isnt in the archives here but other threads related to this are. quite unfortunate it got deleted.

So I got to Guitar Center (pretty far away) and they say they can't do it because they assume that there's a separate "Academic VERSION", as opposed to just separate Academic Pricing. I don't know which one it is - PM'd Squids about it, but does anybody else know?

Not sure exactly. But, they either can offer it or they can regardless of it being a "version" or special "pricing"... and I am not so sure there even is any real discount for that at this stage or not. But, bottom line is just get it for the place that gives you the best deal overall I guess. We don't use this forum to really "shop" for best prices and compare. Each person should do that on their own.

I'd recommend esoundz to you since this is the esoundz forum though. I think the prices and other benefits are excellent.

It seems like I'll have to be duking it out with Guitar Center without any official word, then - hmm. What you did say WAS helpful, though - maybe Guitar Center will see it my way after all . Thanks for the esoundz suggestion - the esoundz Sonik Synth 2 price is out of my budget, though

So NOW they say that the "crossgrade" version of Sonik Synth 2 is separate from the NORMAL version of Sonik Synth 2...

Anybody have any experience buying from Florida Music Company or 4beatz? Ordering from them might be easier than just going to pick it up at Guitar Center, with the way this is going .

By the way, I have an announcement. I've decided that if I get a full scholarship to college, I will buy lots of Sonic Reality stuff and see what the fuss is about! And from esoundz, too!

There is no "crossgrade version of Sonik Synth 2". There's a crossgrade FROM Sonik Synth 2 to SampleTank 2. So, someone got it wrong. But, anyway, you've got one version at the moment of Sonik Synth 2 with a retail list price of $399. Stores discount it differently so you just simply have to find the best deal but there's one version. You could possibly find "education pricing" but that may or may not exist or be that different.
