wanted to show you something lady j but my computer went
crazy, trying to get it sorted out basicly though it's a female mc who plays the drums simotaneously!! and she is an ill drummer as well as a lyricist that can't be f**ked with, I'm gonna post video of her up in a day or so but this is her on the end of this track and she is playing drums on the whole thing. I've not recently heard an mc male or female that cuts the mic like her and to my knowledge there is no other that can flow like this and play drums at the same time
song is called 'radiho'

when you see the video you will flip, this is as iconic as beatboxing when it started, this isn't the kind of say some words between chord strums like wyclef does, she is the real deal and listen to the caliber of mic skills she weilds she's def an mc I don't know many could hang with male or female. even if she wasn't playin drums.

If the topic has switched to female rappers I highly, highly recommend Jean Grae. To say she's got skills is a serious understatement. There was a Def Jux freestyle a while back floating around a couple of years ago with a female that got on the mic after Vordul Mega (of Cannibal Ox fame). Anyone familiar with this one? Anyone know who that is? Her flow was freakin' amazing.
As far as the Eminem thing is concerned. I don't think anybody has anything to worry about. There will be someone along next year and everyone can latch onto them until they stop selling as many records and then someone else comes along and then they stop selling as many reco...
ad infinitum. Such is the world of commercial music...

I wasnt into Eminem until I looked past his style/attitude and listened to his work. He does have skills and I think anyone who cares about this genre would agree.
Plenty of people hate Eminem and hate rap too, but that's not really relevant here. Was he skilled? I think so.

Eminem was ok but I don't think that he lived up to the hype. I just can't get down with the mass marketed commercial stuff. I've been in the underground too long to ever like the commercial stuff again.

My god she's brilliant AND a drummer. If she does not get signed to a major i'd be shocked. There are so many angles of marketting one could play...stale bread wrote:wanted to show you something lady j but my computer went

TCQ? What's that?
I got the name Butter from a friend of mine that's Chinese. She would always rip on me for being white. One time I went out for drinks with her and a bunch of other friends and she said that I probably melt in the sun like butter. Given that I make smooth downtempo I thought it would be an appropriate name.

TCQ, or maybe, ATCQ (asynchronous tagged command queuing? Nah!)
A Tribe Called Quest. The Low End Theory is one of the best rap albums ever.

THAT TCQ. I thought it would be the more IT oriented stuff. (I work in the industry, I just kind of automatically think IT related). I love Tribe but the origin of the name is in the above story.
I think it's a pretty good story though.
