If I was to buy an EQ plug in anytime soon, it would definately be the GEQ.

Wavearts Trackplug is on sale for $99 until the end of the month.
If you qualify for the academic discount, it's $75.

Kjaerhus GEQ-7. No doubt about it. Especially for a newbie to EQ. GlissEQ is a dynamic EQ if I'm not mistaken and may not be the best intro to using EQ, whereas the GEQ a) sounds great (and I mean greeeaaaat) and b) is about as straight forward a track EQ as one can get.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

I like GlissEQ a lot. The dynamics can be turned off and then it's just a regular EQ. I love the interface, being able to grab EQ points with the mouse and drag them where you want them. Last time I checked, GEQ-7 didn't have this type of interface.
Ron, I know you use Tracktion. Compared to the native T EQ, Gliss sounds cleaner and clearer in the upper frequency ranges to me, but uses more cpu. If I were doing it again, I would get the GlissEQ/Crunchessor bundle for 100.00.
hth.
