problem with recording vocals in cool edit 2.0

never had this problem before but started happening a few weeks ago. while recording vocals in cool edit it starts out fine but gradually the vocals speed up & get out of sync with beat track. could it be a setting is off somewhere, not sure where to look. thanks

"Speed up" would be the same as you'd occasionally miss a small fragment on the recorded file. Maybe you have reached the max throughput the harddrive can cope with. It would get worse if you add more tracksto the project (or gets better by muting a few.)
Or the problem is in the audio card. What type, and how is it connected: PCI, firewire or USB?
The recording is screwed now, but you can cut it in smaller pieces and repair the damage by shifting them to the right a bit.

thanks. i've seemed to have fixed it by clicking correct drift box in multitrack tab in the settings.
