That one blown into the dogs ear is loud enough to give us a great, natural layered sound.

Abbreviations for the patches will be
dg_sta (dog staccato)
dg_leg (dog legato)
hwl_p (howl piano)
hwl_f (forte)
hwl_mf (mezzo forte)

...

you are quite funny tele
to answer your question:
"Lingo is a way of referring to the way a certain speech community speaks"
i guess jargon is a better word.
Lingo is also the name of a great american game show, that it is totally.

my guess would be - mr. tunes suggests you to come to terms with the peculiarities of sample naming conventions...maybe. :?:

:hihi:

hmmm.
get with the = "understand"
lingo, we went over that
dears= an old woman's way of saying "friends"

so i guess you could say "it's time to understand the tricky wording my friends"

It's always quite some work to get to know the vocabulary of a discipline, whether it's articulations, chord names, chemistry or anything else.
A list of terms and abbreviations will help, especially if it's not standards (like LP)

tele

P.S.: would you like a copy of my layered dog/harmonica sample? :hihi:

Deliberately stepping on it's tail? Why not gently stroke it and record that as the dog staccato & legato? It doesn't purr but our dog used to make a sound, whilst stroking it so maybe your dog does too. :)

I assume the Non V +V LP is some sort of non vibrato to vibrato fade in looped patch.

Patch naming is kind of hit and miss. Everyone uses different tags to describe the uses of the patch.
Yep!
It would be helpful if the abbreviations in the patch names were explained in the manual.

In fact a great plugin instrument of this sort for orchestral music needs a great manual! :)
... and it shall have one. ;) All the abbreviations are explained don't worry. Also, the patch list posted is preliminary and it is cleaned up and more consistently named in the final.

I did this suggestions already in another thread and Squids acknowledged that he received the "feature request".
Hypersonic has a great solution for patch description, which is integrated in the GUI. Once you load the patch you'll have a text displayed in a description field - which is a brilliant idea, because there one can also describe the specific programming/function of the patch, like "use modwheel for volume swell". Very handy.

We actually have that ability for the parent sound at least. There's a place for "info" and if you click on the ST2 image a few times it toggles through what the macro descriptions are and this "info" in the sound. Usually we use it for the copyright info but it could be used for patch performance info. Miro doesn't show that though (maybe in a future update perhaps). But, anyway, that's just for the parent. There's the child and combis where MORE performance info is there and nice to see. Well, luckily we have a good manual and thoughtout consistent schemes. You'll see. ;)
