A friend of mine named Gardner Cole who wrote that song "Open Your Heart" for Madonna (made millions off one song... I am on the wrong side of the business!) also had interesting girlfriends like Lisa Bonet and a bunch of others that I forget now except for one girl named Laura Ponty. Jean Luc's beautiful daughter.

Anyway, Jean Luc Sul Ponte. :D

Any word on the upcoming demo's? I really want to order this, just based on those demo's that I've liked, but I know that would be stupid - I want to get a very solid idea of what the library sounds like before I commit to the purchase, but I also don't want to be the last one in line to receive it when it's released :P

Squids,

Can you elaborate a bit on your statement "...The sounds have to be authorized as well as the plug-in..."?

How exactly does this work and what specifically are the restrictions around it? Can I, for instance, install Miroslav on both my desktop DAW and a laptop? Or would it have to be "deauthorized" on one first?

Does this represent a structural change to the sth/sti/stp file format?

Thanks,
Bradster

The sounds just have to be authorized to open like the plug-in does. You can still use it on your desktop and your laptop, Mac or PC. I'll give you more details on the changes in how it is authorized soon. For now I have the original installed personally so I am not doing the new process at this moment (not while I am in the midst of making demos).

I guess that answers the other question... I am in the midst of doing a lot of individual riff demos. I hope to have them done soon. Meanwhile, we have a nice pre-order discount and bonus thing going on with www.esoundz.com this week. I'll try to get my demos up before pre-order is up but I may not be able to. Hopefully the demos so far are enough to go by (not to mention the fact that this is an incredible price for a high end orchestral collection). Good luck! We appreciate the support for those that have pre-ordered it. Thank you!

What's the bonus thing you're refering to? :) CSR?

Zai
Whenever I see your nick I think of this phrase "It is zai". :D

No, that bonus is already known. The bonuses I am refering to are 50 free combis that are exclusively only available from www.esoundz.com for Miroslav Philharmonik and these are extra ones we continued to do after we were done with the original set (yes, we just kept going and going! Too much fun.). They are more of the "instant orchestra" variety. On top of that there is a little coupon in the latest newsletter. All esoundz members get the newsletter so if you didn't get it then please email robert@esoundz.com and ask why you aren't on the list (or perhaps have him update your esoundz membership info with your correct email address). We've had thousands of people join up recently. People are REALLY taking advantage of the immediacy of the downloadable sounds. While we're not going to do Miroslav samples for download we WILL be doing special patches and in this case it will be an awesome set for free for those that pre-order.

Aye aye...I think I have the email somewhere...and I'm on the pre-order list...so I'll continue to wait. :)

It is ZAI! :p

Aaargh - damn you Squids and your infernal high quality low price product strategy, free combis and money off coupons! Did you think I'd give in to that temptation and pre-order this even though I promised I'd wait a while - well, did you??

You'd have been right then - just pre-ordered now :)

All I need to do now is move my bed downstairs to be next to the letterbox and I'm ready!

Derek.

Ends this week ?!

I'm glad you're working on those riffs, Squids! I really really hope you get done with those demos in time... if you don't, I don't think I can afford to wait until the price goes up, so I'll just have to pre-order and cry about it

If you don't finish the riffs, I'll preorder it if you PROMISE the sounds are great and can be used to create realistic, fast or slow, heavy or light, moving or dramatic or intense orchestral compositions/arrangements that are better-sounding than the current demo's, without having to expend any greater effort than one would expect in using a high-end orchestral library. Because if all that is true, it's a great deal :D

I don't think the pre-order ends this week (pretty sure of that based on comments earlier in this thread) - I think Squids was referring to the extra $10 off and the 50 free combi patches which eSoundz are offering this week (offer ends 12 midnight EST on Fridy from memory).

As you can see from my earlier reply here I've tipped over the edge and ordered this now - I can lend you a handkerchief if you want something to cry into :)

Derek.

The 50 combis are for the whole pre-order period (and after that people can buy it as a download product... Gold and Platinum members can still have it for free though any time they want). It's the coupon that expires by the end of the day (so get those pre-orders in!).

As far as the sounds go. I think it is safe to say this. For people that are musicians who really play and/or compose music then these sounds offer so much inspiration and character. They're extremely useful and we're very proud of what we did with the material. If one is the kind of person who spends more time just looking for flaws or being particular about certain things like the sound of the rosin or the noise floor on a quiet sound or tuning opinions etc then I would hate for that person to think that we're saying it is perfect. I don't think anything is perfect really. But, you have to know how to judge a product like this to appreciate it. I definitely think that ALL SampleTank 2 lovers will be astounded at the beauty, variety and compositional power that Philharmonik offers compared to what they are used to in the orchestral categories of ST2 before. I think that GPO users will definitely like some of the things that this does that compliment what GPO does. I think VSL and EWQLSO users will like the warmth and emotion that the library has to offer. So, it is very much a staple piece for people who really do use orchestral products. But, not everyone does. I personally find it hard for anyone not to find tremendous value in the purchase even if they may or may not like every sound in it. There ARE thousands of them to choose from. It's several times the size of the original $4,000 library for about 10 times less... plus all the other bonuses we're doing. If that seems to work for you then by all means PRE-ORDER and take advantage of the great deals on the launch. I obviously want every customer to be happy with the purchase so I am doing my best here.

I may be getting over excited about the prospect of this now I've pre-ordered but I am now really looking forward to seeing what a rank amateur non-keyboard player like me can do with this.

I spent four hours in the car today and tuned into Classic FM (UK classical radio station) instead of my usual choices just to start getting attuned to the way a real orchestra plays - mainly the dynamics and "feel" rather than the melodies and arrangements (I'm nowhere near that yet).

My wife sings with a well-known (locally at least) classical chorus so I'm already planning to steal a few of her scores and crib from them using the choir sounds just to see what I can do before I even start trying to create anything from scratch.

I have the feeling that this will open a whole new door for me - just like getting my first keyboard (DX7 Mark 1) did when I'd never played anything other than guitar before.

Can't wait.

Derek.

I finally succumbed to the siren song of Philharmonik and just placed my order. :)

I think the thing I find most appealing about it is its capacity for doing some quick and dirty real time work with it.

Oh yeah, I can also finally say I've gone platinum.
