Hi all,
I have Atmosphere and the glass harmonica samples are great there. Just wondering if anyone knows of some others? I already checked findsounds with no luck. Also looking for good tanpura samples( Swar Systems stuff?) In a droning mood tonight.....

well, if you have a soft sampler and are really serious about it, you could go worse than vsl glass and stones but that's quite expensive and huge set. really unique sounding, though.
never stop loving music.

Thanks for the tip. The demos were nice. A bit more than I care to spend, but nice to know if I ever change my mind. Wish I could afford a real one! They are really cool sounding, ethereal, meditative, etc. The VSL one is sweet though.

Hi again,
I didn't know Finkenbeiner was still doing it. The original owner died in a plane crash some years ago. Yes, the glass harmonica has been a lust of mine for years.(Ben Franklin thank you!) Hey even Mozart wrote a piece or two for one of these jewels.

I know about the guys touching the edge of the glass as an instrument, just like:

But isn´t this harmonica something different?

Yes, there are several hand made glass bowls on a spindle that turns. You play the different notes with moist fingers. See the link to one in a previous post. They sound really unique.
