They should be sending you an email. Try logging into your account in the meantime and see if the serial is already there. It should be AFAIK.

You may not be eligible for a free upgrade then

I believe the wording is 'onlock' by the release date. You should write Ableton a nice email and fax them your receipt.

You can probably still get the free upgrade after the release date, but I would contact them asap just to make sure.

Could anyone share some info regarding its sync capabilities?

All I've found was this:

* Tempo sync to any external source through MIDI Clock master or slave; MIDI Timecode slave.
* Audio and transport sync through the ReWire protocol as master or slave.

I'm not familiar with the ReWire Protocol.

Will it recieve MMC from an external transport control, and can it send MIDI clock and MTC?

I thought I was gonna get burned cos I bought Live4 a few days prior to the announcement of Live5.. such that I just missed the cut off date that would have permited a free upgrade. Thankfully, the folks at ableton were kind enough to let me slip in.. so the upgrade was was free!

Oh yeah, and I really like that even though you order a boxed upgrade, you still get to use it right away. Ableton knows whats up, dawg
