I am extremely fond of the Tritone Valvetone '62 plugin (got it for $50 but it is $99 now). Although it is only a 2 band EQ with fixed frequencies,it is very analogue sounding and colorful, and it is amazing on basses, acoustic instruments, drum overheads, and vocals. That one is great for coloring up and shaping a track, combined with a good freeware/native-to-host EQ for some more precise adjustments and surgery. Even inserted on a track with no adjustments to the EQ bands, it imparts some cool tubeish color (4 variations to choose from). Obviously VT is much less versatile than GlissEQ, GEQ7, HarmoniEQ, etc...
whats your preferred $99 or less EQ ???

Here's a great one I use a lot, that nobody has mentioned so far: Voxengo GlissEQ

Re: '62 VT
Those guys are pretty busy but I wish they'd get that one sampled at 96. I'm stuck using it on samples but not on live instruments for now.
