 Cool... As I say, probably just a transparent proxy issue or something... :)
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

Peppy,

garrett's downloader tool says that it can't mirror your track; http://peppy.audioshot.net/lief.mp3

Jens, your download link isn't working.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

(and the extraterrestials demanded it to be so... i had NO choice they were holding my pills captive !!!)

Possibly the last of 'em (again)...

griels/Transmogrified - Great intro and nice quick-fingered bass. Nothing really wrong with the vocalist, but doesn't quite seem to fit the feel of the tune, for me anyway. Would have enjoyed this more as an instrumental, so I could dwell on the sounds. The mid-section covers some smooth territory, but is given a bit of a comic edge by what seem to be the sounds of your vocalist, erm... pleasuring himself. A little too excited by his own company, anyway. :scared: Good stuff, and most imaginative use of car horns this month.

jens/nightclubbing - 'Dance music and poetry'. Together at last. Your poetry tends towards the Dionysian, rather than the Apollonian, which is just right for a song like this. There's an unhurried feel to the groove which works well, though the simple, clean-cut, eighties-influenced sounds undercut the more sensual sentiments of the lyrics. The clav at the end, for instance, feels a bit too cute and innocent for a tune about asses and the shaking thereof, maybe switch it to something a bit smokier?

liqih - thanks for the words.

diek - Downloaded fine this time. Computers, I'll never understand them. And I think you're right, your tune does have some of those telltale annoying artifacts you get from mp3 encoding.

It'd be nice if we all switched to ogg, at least for these contests, but I think that idea got a grumpy response from the locals last time it was raised. There are people here who'd still be recording music on wax cylinders and eating raw gravel if they had the choice. And probably justifying it with vague comments about 'analogue warmth' and 'couldn't be arsed'.

utm - If we do get another 44 entries I'll have your head on a stick.

Are these really intelligent arguements or designed to degrade anothers viewpoint?
I for one would appreciate simply hearing about the technical merits of one against the other without this sham of questionable bable.

Just following orders sir... Couldn't find the exact details of when submissions normally closed... If only those pesky kids hadn't demanded I opened the submissions thread whilst half cut... I blame Glooper :hihi:

Sorry peppy, had no idea that gravel and wax would be mistaken for an attempt at an intelligent argument. I forgot the golden rule of the internet - if you're not being completely serious, stick an emoticon on the end of the sentence to avoid crossed wires. ;)

(Though I think farlukar has a link in his sig, if you want to delve into the pros and cons seriously.)
