Hi,

I haven't bought a dedicated plug in fx pack for all round use but I have done some reasearch into what might be a good starter pack for the first time buyer of VST/DX fx.

Please also give me your thoughts.

1. Anwida have a range of plugins that looked useful to me but I would like some feedback on this please as I couldn't find any reviews as such.

2. Blue Tube plugs also looked good and the reviews were great so I don't need too many words on these.

Any advice always welcome! :!:

A good place to start is freeware.

I would suggest the Classic range from Kjaerhus Audio.

Cost wise, have a look at the voxengo (only used the freeware myself but it is of very high quality) and maybe speak to Jon ConcreteFX about doing an FX pack as he does for his synths

ConcreteFX do a bundle of all their effects, I know because Ive got it. Its on the effects page of the download page. You get Debaser (a 4 part multi, versatile, effects with feedback paths), Brush, which is a synth and effect made with comb filters and is very intresting and you also get all the other more specific effects he does, theres 7 in total.
I dont know that its the best starter package as they are better suited to complex sound effects rather than workhorse type effects though all the standard effects are included. But they're a bargain at £40 and he's planning on updating Debaser when he gets time.

To start with just down load the Classic series from Torben, also luxonix LF1310 free multieffects from
http://luxonix.com/home/en/index-home.html
and some of the other acclaimed free effects, thats the best to start with.

umm.. Yeah, the Blue Tubes bundle sound fantastic- but have you seen the price?

If you wan't good freeware, I would suggest checking out digitalfishphones.com, kjaerhus audio for the "classic" range and smart electronix- they have heaps of free plugins from conventional things like Phasers & Reverbs to really, really twisted FX like Crazy Ivan =)

I tried the Anwida FX and didn't like them- but thats just me.
