Ok..I use Tracktion 2 as my host. I get my drum sounds in battery..BUT..I really like Fruity loops quantize a lot. so much that I have spent hours trying to figure out how the hell to get it to spit out a simple quantized hi hat pattern into MIDI so I can take that MIDI info and drag it into my Hi hat channel...is this possible? I feel like it is, and I'd like to know how to do it. I am not succeeding at all.

well if you written the part in FL and you're saying you want to convert it to midi go tools>use macros>prepare for midi export...then file>export>midi file...:)

well ...
to do what you want ...

01.] make one , and only one , midi out channel insert ...
02.] copy , and paste the midi data from your hi-hat channel into the midi out channel insert ...
03.] select 'file' ...'export'...'midi file' ...
04.] name , and save this file , to , for instance , your desktop ...
05.] hit start ...
06.] wait a bit ... you can see the % progress ...
07.] when done , you will have a midi file , with that channel only ...
08.] import into T2 , or where-ever ...

i'll assume you have a channel dedicated to 'hi-hats' ...

right click on the channel name tab ...
you will get a menu list ...
select 'edit' ...'copy' ...

right click on the midi out channel name tab ...
select 'edit'...'paste' ...

voila ...

To complicate things a bit, or give more options. you can rewire them or simply export the hi hats as a wav file. exporting as a wav is my favorate option since it will save cpu in the long run.
