I just posted something about this on the Waves Ampsim page. I held off getting a Software Ampsim, when Amplitude 2 was announced. The way Squids talked about it I was so excited. Well after waiting for so long, I might just "give in" to the Waves Ampsim.

Is Amplitube2 even going to be as good of an emulation as Simulanalog JCM900?

amplitube 2 looks like its got a bit more to it maybe, as far as quantity , but who knows the waves one might win out in quality.. you could find a free vst to tide you over til amplitube comes out and they release a demo ,, voxengo has one as i remember.

I asked Squids not to long ago when Amplitude 2 will come out...he said that it might come out September. Amplitude 2 seems to have more "goodies" than the Waves one. Since I already have Amplitude 1, hopefully it'll be cheaper to upgrade up to 2.

I should hope so. With Miroslav, Amplitube 2, Ampeg SVX and Studiophonik coming out this year it looks like I'll be nice and slim by Christmas.

I contacted Ikmultimedia some weeks ago... they said to me that the release date of Amplitube 2 would be probably the first day of September.

Okay, I take that back...waves amp sim looks quite interesting as well.
