Right now, I'm pretty much using only free effects, and while I do like them, I feel that for my upcoming productions I need a greater edge, and more powerful tools. For instance, I have no truly good reverbs, de-essers, or other vocal tools, and my best EQ is the Fruity parametric one. I know Waves makes extremely high-end products, but I was surprised to see this bundle was only $450.
Has anyone ever used it? Any thoughts?

I guess the Waves Rennaissance is a good starter bundle with a little bit of everything... But try also to look into Voxengo plugins, they have everything you need, and at a good price too...

Yeah, I bought this, and think it's very high-quality. Recall that there are two volumes (I and II) - Or at least there was 3 years ago when I got it.
I think the Reverb that comes with it is one of the best I have. I actually like it BETTER than the Waves Gold's TrueVerb.
All the plugins are design to be easy to use, with fewer frills than other Waves plugins. That's both good and bad, depending on what you want.

There are not two volumes, as far as I'm aware. The Waves site only lists one. I have looked into the Voxengo plugins as well, but I have more faith in the "Waves" name.. and the prices are pretty similar, I think.
I know this is a 'starter' bundle and it has fewer frills, but it's far superior to what I'm using now in features and functionality. Plus, if this is $450, I don't think I have the money to afford the 'real thing' as of yet

check out the Waves Musican Bundle II. it includes a nice array of tools for $150. the rencomp and the renvox are the real winners of that bundle and can be had in Musican Bundle. i'd look at that and then check out someone else for reverbs over the full RenMaxx. on the mac so i don't know all of what's what over on the pc anymore, but Voxengo Pristine Space looks interesting.
i tend to use my nomad factory plugs more than the waves stuff (though i've been coming back to the renvox and rencomp more lately), so if you are willing to spend $450, check those at ($399 for total package). no reverb but lots of other useful mixing tools.
