I just finished listening to Borland support tell me that -- contrary to what other Borland people had explicitly told me before purchasing -- the expensive programming language package I bought does NOT include all the features promised. One of the most important (to me) was omitted. I asked several official Borland reps about this exact thing, and they all agreed that yes, it was included. I checked the feature matrix for the product I got. The bloody install program even boasts that it's included! They all agreed. And they all lied.
I've faithfully supported Borland International since about 1983 or '84, buying dozens of their products and doing all in my power to influence project managers to let me use Borland langauges instead of Microshaft. But in spite of continued loyalty, right now I feel cheated, used, and ill treated, and would very much like to spray the lying sons of humans who smiled in my face before they had their money, then dagged me in the back soon as they had it.
Bloody hell.
I'll keep using Borland products for my projects because they're the best ones available for what I do, and because I've a huge established codebase. But they've lost -- no, they've thrown away like something loathsome and worthless -- all that loyalty and the feeling I once had of being a part of a community.
Now I'll listen to my blood boiling for a while. Sorry, I don't have a mic or I'd record some samples for y'all. Some of you who live nearby (say, within a 100-mile radius) might be able to hear it if you listen carefully.
