The more I use V5, the more I love it. That's not usually the case with me and software. I'll get excited initially, then discover all the bugs and limitations. My one and only issue with Live 5: no easy way to do time sig changes in the arrange timeline. But I know it's possible, I'm just too lazy to investigate because it isn't that big of a deal to me.

One improvement I guess is that you can remove the grid, which avoids confusion about where the bars are. And you can then add markers to simply show verses and choruses, etc.braj wrote:The more I use V5, the more I love it. That's not usually the case with me and software. Yeah, but in reality I'm not that inventive and don't generally need time sig changes
But I do understand it's totally possible and if I read the manual it would likely be simple.

Anything rewired to Logic gives me a headachettoz wrote:ooooooooooh, ableton live 5 rewired to Logic 7.1, dual 23" cinema displays, and a dual, dualcore 2.5ghz G5.

I never could get it to work well, at least with LE7. Anyway, not anywhere as easy as Live as a Rewire hostttoz wrote:why? it's easy to rewire to logic.
create audio object, input to rewire channel, done.

I just upgraded after playing with the beta. This is one smashing application. The fact that I can now drag RMX loops directly onto MIDI tracks is a godsend for me.

pHz, Notron User, Hypertone, headquest, bluedad: Thanks for the input, guys!
Sadly, my home PC has started randomly switching itself off and rebooting (maybe the poor thing's getting old... like it's master...
). Anyway, I'll have to install on my work PC and play with it at lunchtime.

My laptop does this if it gets too much dust in it. Hoover it out and it may be as good as new! Good luck.

That's the thing though, I opened it up last week. There was what I can only describe as a 'coral' of dust around the processor and heatsink. So I removed it all. Took out all the PCI cards, cleaned them carefully (and static protected). But it's still doing it. Time for a new DAW, I think...
