Kaze,
What is that rating software you took a screenshot of in your voting post? I need something like that. The way I do my ratings takes me too long to organize. Is it some kind of freebie and runs on Windows.
Thanks for the vote, by the way. It was starting to look like I was going to have to settle for an HM only!

The software is (windows and free) foobar2000. It is extremely user configurable and rather difficult to work out at first. I DL some dude's configuration which I'll need to find the link for.
I'm sure you'll see more votes. Your track starts really strong which makes it no challange to listen to all the way through. Some classic sounds too.

I just found out las night my site has not been working for the last 7 days!!!!!
Just forget about my track for this contest. I am setting up a new web hosting account in another company.
Anyway. here are my first reviews and I will post my top ten songs in the other thread.
I`d like to say that I dug most of the tunes. Some are very straight forward and perfect for the theme at hand. While others are so strange that even though are hard to dance by a sober person, are fun enough to at least try.
Jens - Nightclubbing;
Very Disco-like and danceable for this old fart (me) I really dig the distorted synth sound. It adds a different edge to the whole track. It has some Falco style to it and I like the fact that it does not follow a straight 4 on the floor.
griels - Transmogrified; Great 80`s feel. I just love that bass and guitar lines. Among my favorites even though the voice kindda looses it at the end of the first phrase. Interesting use of the noises. It reminds me sooooo much of my college years!!!!!!
knoob - FallApart; Direct and melodic. Perfect for the radio and MTV ready. I like the way the piano melody carries the whole thing. It would be hard to carry a full lenght tune using this line of thought but It would make for a nice intro to a more complex song.
The Peu - N Express; Rather weird in the fact that the rythm seems to be going at one pace but the melody is moving somewhat slower. Interesting, but it seems to have something missing ( I am plagued by this same feeling in my music). Interesting arpeggios.
Guitarjeff - Catch The Buzz; Very disco!!!! nice tune, well built and carrying a "feel good" groove. Excellent guitar both in rythm and solo. Excellent.
choochcat - rough music; Interesting but not very danceable unless you are on Musrooms.
bitshift - Controversy; Sounds very 80s Prince-like. Nice and groovy. Where is Sheila E.?the guitar lays some nice rythmic figures in the background. This could make a very cool full lenght tune.
bastien - Nacht; Relaxing start for sure but wild drums! Let`s rave deep in the outback!!!!! Another weird tune to dance to but makes a very good listening experience.
Diek - Respect; Sorry I just don`t dig this one.
Markleford - Rio Azul; Is it me or the guitar is slightly out of tune? I found this one too weird and derivative
softegg - Passage; I just don`t seem to be able to stream this one
thomekk - LaLaLa; Slow groove and distorted sounds. Nice Indie sounds, but this is mostly for a slow poke on a sunday monday.
tuz - eye nipple voidoid; Interesting use of panning and sounds. I can`t see myself dancing to this, but I have a friend who might just find it perfect!! too weird for my 4/4 dancing skills.
pepelogu - KVR; Excelent Art Of Noise styled tune. I like the general sparseness and use of sounds. Has a very full sound without being cluttered. Another favorite.
kaze - Jinro and Other Spirits (Dance of); No streaming.
Col.G - MC Loser; Another guitar fueled 70`s styñle ode. Is that Capt. Beefheart? funny enough to be in my top list.
warbug - DOA; Fast paced for sure! A bit cluttered and muddy sounding, but the idea is interesting.
Glooper - DiscoMission; Very disco, but what could you spect from the title? I love the sound of that bass line. Excellent voice too!!! This has to be my favorite in the whole lot!.

The distorted parts definitely. It's double-tracked in stereo and I'm doing some string bends and vibrato that tend to wind up sharp. Didn't think the middle funk guitar stuff was out, though...Markleford - Rio Azul; Is it me or the guitar is slightly out of tune?

Thanks for your nice review and I am glad it made you laugh. Actually the voice is a composite of James Brown, Dr.John and Capt.Beefheart.Kaos Axiom wrote: Col.G - MC Loser; Another guitar fueled 70`s styñle ode. Is that Capt. Beefheart? funny enough to be in my top list.
I call that voice Dr.Brownbeef.
Thanks again,
G.

Hi Kaos. A lot of the tracks don't stream from markleford's radio. You have to download those to hear them.
I am sure some people skip the ones that don't stream and just vote based on the ones that do.. There are always some gems that are not streamable. I know, it's a hassle, but I think it's only fair to listen to all the tracks before voting..

I have another question:
is there a correlation between the number of votes I get and the fact that my entry tends to be the last one being submitted? (usually I submit about 30 seconds before the deadline ends...) - when do people decide for what songs they vote?

Hi jens
Make a poll!
Personally, I dedicate several time slots throughout the month to listen to entries. I'll listen to the first 10 maybe, make some notes, come back a week later, and listen to the tracks that have been posted since the last time I checked.. etc.. then, once the deadline has passed, I will listen to all the last tracks that were posted during the last week.
So, I would say it doesn't change much...
I should probably limit myself to listening to each entry once, but there are entries that I will listen to several times during the month ( ones that i really like ) and this may effect the way that I vote. If someone submits sooner, I can listen to that entry more often before voting.. If you enter your track last, chances are I won't be able to listen to it as much as others before putting in my vote... but sometimes all it takes is one listen for me to know that I LOVE an entry, so at the same time, it could not make a difference at all..
