Ive been looking for something like the beat repeat plugin bundled with Live 5. Are there any alternatives to this instrument that is as playable live?

Check out the new Livecut plugin from mdsp@smartelectronix. Still in beta, but cuts, stutters and glitches like a grownup.

And there s always Lucifer, if your'e heavy into these kind of things.
Lots more complicated and it's gonna costs ya, but noting comes close in flexibility and playbility.

I reckon that a combination of my phutboyslim plugin, which is free :D and Bram's Supatrigga (which is also free :D) should get you there :-)

another vote for phuboyslim :) , a great plug it could be even better with some other simple options implemented but the author doesn't have time to work on it (joke)

Hmmm beatrepeat is a bit different yet similar to all of those with three modes / mix-insert-gate .
Mix - combines both signals
Insert - plays the beat repeat effect only
Gate - uses the beat repeat patch to gate the incoming audio.

It is great when combined with Suppatrigga or LiveCut as I found out when trying the Live 5 demo.
I've also been messing about with Operator.
Just drop a voxengo recorder into the demo track and record the .wav file results for use in an earlier version of Live (if like me you can't afford to update) - or to REX up etc for Reason and the like.
Pssssst but you didn't hear that from me OK :).

For a playable option, check out White Noise's Memory. Also check out ioplong's splonki, which is a lot more versatile than most other options, but it allows you to arrange slicers in the buffer on your own. There's a simple beat repeater plugin in 12th floor's plugin pack, but it looks like their site is now offline.
