mdsp,
this is a great plugin.
been foolin' around with it
a lot the last couple of days.
if there's time,
could you give some detailed info on the params
(esp the global ones like seed, duty & fillduty)?
thanks again.
cheers,
tl.

seed is just a way to reset the random generator so that you can always get the same sequence of cuts. It could just have been a reset button, but instead you can set the random seed to 0-16 (default is 0)tl wrote:mdsp,

duty is the duty cycle of cuts which are NOT fills, i.e. most of the cuts.
fillduty is the duty cycle of cuts which are fills.
by combining those 2 and depending of the modes you can achieve some interresting results.
like start with a beat that just makes some very short click click from time to time to a full beat ready to blast your hears.
in sqpusher mode it's useful to set it to around 50% so that the rythmical elements are more noticeable and syncopated.
also note that some settings are only applied to rolls (like pitchshift) but it's mode dependent.
I'll have to write a proper manual some day, but now I don't have time.
cheers
have fun

finally got this working in sonar 4. OMG its amazing! any ideas how to sync it to tempo? or is that automatic? usually in sonar, you have to manually sync "tempo based" effects.

it doesn't just use tempo, but also postion in beats in your song, so if sonar passes the right timeinfos it should be synced according to tempo and locked on beats and bars too.
new phrases can only starts on the beginning of a bar for example, so if for whatever reason you change the song position around the end of a phrase, you may have to wait a bar for it to resart.

load a drum loop or short vocal loop into the sampler and assign to fx1.......then go to mixer and load up livecut on fx1 channel in the 1 slot , then put the level to the right in the middle......hit play and play around until you get idea of what it does.....takes a while so be patient.make sure you turn on USE FIXED SIZE BUFFERS in the fruity extra options box in the livecut wrapper screen. seed is just a way to reset the random generator so that you can always get the same sequence of cuts. Thanks, dazzer...that's a lot of detail. I tried exactly what you suggested, but unfortunately I'm still not getting anything.
I inserted a channel, Drumatic 3, and created a simple drum pattern. Checked off "use fixed buffers", and assigned it to fx1. Inserted Livecut on FX1, set the level halfway, but I don't seem to be hearing any kind of effect on the synth. I have no clue what I'm doing incorrectly

this is amazing stuff, but could you implement a fast crossfade or something to remove the clicks ?
I mean, I get clicks and peaks from the output, those should be faded off..

you can use a compressor/limiter.legendCNCD wrote:...peaks from the output, those should be faded off..
as for the clicks i'm with mdsp and shuzhen.. this plug is predestinated for glitch.. formerly known as clicks and cuts.

mdsp: finally got it working with Sonar, by checking the "use as instrument"... and i love this! last night i was playing with loops, vocals, ENTIRE MIXES!!!, and live vocals and damn, this is THE plugin for messing things up, in a somewhat controlled manner. i have no idea how it does what it does. i cant tell if it works by measure or some division. i noticed that some of the parameters dont respond linearly to the controls, i suppose you intended that. i'll bet you didnt expect this kind of reaction from a beta!
