I am not speaking from a point of knowledge here (still trying to learn about Live 5 before I buy it), but it makes sense that freezing would indeed free up the CPU cycles, as it does in FLS.
I am downloading the demo now, so I am concerned that it doesn't in the demo? Weird if so...

That wasn't the concern(CPU cycles)because that's what Freeze does in all hosts. The question was wether it free's up Ram....xander wrote:it makes sense that freezing would indeed free up the CPU cycles, I am downloading the demo now, so I am concerned that it doesn't in the demo? Weird if so...

The issue I have with the live5 freeze is that it does not allow you to edit the volume automation after the track has been frozen. I wish it had the same flexibility as the Sonar freeze function when it comes to editing volume and pan automation.

But couldn't you route that channel through to another audio channel, put in a blank audio file for the clip and then automate that?ditgitalz wrote:The issue I have with the live5 freeze is that it does not allow you to edit the volume automation after the track has been frozen.
