Can't. It's too bad to let anyone else hear. I'm not into humiliation. Not a problem, in a place like this there are hundreds or thousands who are infinitely better. :-)

Back on topic: There are a few pieces of music that I feel more than others. Isao Tomita's version of "The Great Gate of Kiev" almost invariably makes the fur on my back and neck stand up when those first powerful synth blasts sound out. =O.O= WOW.

Awwwwwww cmon just one?

You can take my word, it's awful. If I ever make a piece I'm not ashamed of, I'll put it up on the Music Cafe. Everything else I delete after it's done.

[edit] Ah -- more great Tomita moments: The thunderstorm movement in "Grand Canyon" and "Dawn Chorus" from "Canon of the Three Stars." Both beautiful beyond words.

Like a kick in betty's. :D

Mef,
You really need to post your stuff...it will make you a better song writer....there's some great feedback kickin around these parts..... :)
...if you keep that kind of talk up we are all going to start to feel some violins playing...
....seriously...it's helped me! :)

ok...back to topic.... :hihi:

Hey, I've got some violins somewhere around here...

When my "Burgess Suite" is suitable for public consumption I'll post that. Y'all would probably like it better than "USA, Nineteen Fifty Seven," which is intentional schmaltz. Don't expect it to be any time soon though.

Post

hes right meffy :)
get some stuff out there
if you dont feel up to startin straight in the cafe feel free to borrow my ears and well see where we get to :)

What I have is a jillion half-finished pieces of... erm, material. None are in a state to show to anyone else. Lots of ideas in there but nothing worth hearing. But I'll let y'all rip "Burgess" to shreds some day.

Post

yes, i feel the music.

but yeah i find it hard to imagine being less involved with listening to and creating music. ever since i was a wee lad it has been thus, although i've never stuck with one thing long enough to get good at it on the creativity side.

vurt/mef,
I think we should start a new thread for guys like mef who write all the time but never post. I'm totally serious.....the Cafe is probably the most supportive listeners forum that I know of. (where the listeners actually know something about music, song writing and production)
Come on Meffy...at least take vurt's advice and send him a friggen snippet!

sorry if I'm a little off topic here.....

I agree, and I don't...I would likely go off on anyone that said anything hurtful myself...but at the same time Meffy needs to d it when he's ready...but Meffy, sometimes you need to take a leap of faith...;)

Post

how about a loop post? i've many songs that are still in the loop stage. it'd be nice to know which one's are priority accordin to the listener

Post

do it!

but be prepared to have some fool possibly use your loops in some mad mangled experiment :whistles innocently:
:ud:

Post

yeah a loops bin thing would be pretty cool... people will no doubt end up requesting separated tracks of various loops though! could kick start some good collaborations.
