Voters are influenced?

it HAS been suggested in the past (in the bad old days of voting when it often looked like a 'singer-songwriter vs ambient noodling wierdies' tactical voting contest) ... i like the idea but im not sure how the logistics would work ...
... some members have VERY distinctive voices if nothing else ...

plus when people vote how would we actually know who won if it was completely anonymous,of that track was mine no it was mine fcuk off you two it was mine
could be fun watchin that gossip thread tho
anonimity leading to people speaking more freely ie song number 45 i wouldnt play to a dieing dog you fcuker why did you make me listen now i have to shower in acid and scrub my nads with a brillo pad just to take my mind of the abysmal diorhea that was your track
remain anonymous after someone says that about your track hahaha!![]()

seriously, i think it's possible. we could PM pHz (or another mod) to let him know what's our 'anonymous' identity, and yes we need a common server.
but phz/griels/markleford are voters too

Haven't read whole thread . . .
I only vote on song quality, but it depends on the theme how I set the criteria for what a quality song is. There are several factors that can play into it, not all of them technical. Good composition, production and instrument choice will always get higher ratings from me. But I also use some other qualities that are more intangible: creative interpretation of the theme (as opposed to literal translation of the theme), adherence to the spirit of the competition, innovative song styling, humor/irreverance . . . all these can play into the vote.
To be honest, it doesn't matter how others review or vote on my songs when it comes to my vote, though it is interesting sometimes to see how people review compared to who they ultimately vote for.
But that doesn't mean I trust any of you to vote the way I do
(There really needs to be a Paranoid emoticon in the list.)

we need a 'referee', someone who doesn't play the game with us. it can be anyone "of good reputation"...vurt wrote:but phz/griels/markleford are voters too
we need a web space to ftp the tracks. maybe someone (i think about YouTM, JDG-panicnow-man, Spe3d) can provide us with such a bit of paradise?
when it's time to upload the track, we PM the 'referee' with our details and he gives us the password for the ftp.
Otherwise, we could register under our anonymous identity at Auditorium and post our tracks over there...?
Would be a special month, but could be fun.

it'd be just for one month, tho. after that, we reveal our identity and repatriate our tracks to our usual homes.

of course ... why bother coercing voters when you can save money by going to whoever it is that publishes the result ???
