Use send effects. Or group tracks. Or whatever your host has...

Kjaerhus has this on one, but regretably not on the flagship model. Camelphat free has this! I think PSP Mixpressor does from memory ... it's a very good idea, and we should be insisting on this.

You can use energy XT, it has dry/wet control on inserts. That way any compressor gets a dry/wet control

It's a dubious benefit - down to personal taste really. It can work OK with things like drums...means you can mix in the highly compressed powerloop in with the original to retain a hint of the original transients etc. Supposedly it gives a more dynamic but powerful compressed sound. Personally I was never very impressed by the technique. Especially if you adjust the levels properly so that you're not just being deceived by the increase in volume you get when you initially do it....what is the benefit of dry/wet compression? What makes this different to adjusting the compressor to function more softly?
Some people swear by it. I'd rather use a compressor on its own with a bit of attack instead.
Try it out, anyway...you can do it with any compressor - just use it on a send rather than insert, and mix the levels until you feel there's a benefit, if any. But bring the overall levels down - don't be deceived by volume alone - it's a really very subtle effect that you might decide ain't worth bothering with.
