If you want to throw a bit of controlled chaos into your composing try using Chordspace with your eyes shut. Seriously - because you know roughly where the groups of hexagrams are you end up with the kind of progression you want but the fact that you sometimes end up with a Bbsus then next time round with a Bb7+9 makes things interesting.

Capture all of the output in your sequencer and then just manually edit the chords which really didn't work :)

Derek.

@ Nuffink
Sadly it doesn't load in my Logic
Also when using Xlutops chainer first its notes cannot be captured.
That's Logic :(

Hi, I've been looking for something like this for bloody ages. It looks wonderful, how long before there'll be some form of download for non beta testers? I'd love to take part in the beta but I'm guessing there's more than enuff peeps already asked.

Can't wait to try it.

OK, everyone go get a touchscreen! It's freaking awesome! I honestly never use the touch screen on any regular basis because it doesn't have the highest touch-resolution, but in this case it works marvelously! BTW, I got the LCD for free from a friend's job. They were just throwing these 15" 1024x768 touchscreens away (they are used from electronic Bingo parlors). I wish I could get a few more now! That woudl make an interesting midi controller!

BTW, the timing of the touch seems spot on and very musical.

Hm, my only touch-screen is an ancient CRT used for medical imaging... emulates a SERIAL mouse. =o.O= Never could get it to work though. The display part functions but it's a crummy display. Such is life.

Working through duplicating whyterabbyt's excellent eXT/SONAR setup now.

Ah, you know what would be nice? A 'hold' function! That would make playing the arps with me fingers loverly!

Nevermind (for me anyway!) Live's arp plug works wonderfully and gives more options as well.

I'm freaking THANKFUL for this plug, bro! This is awesome fun and makes my screen effectively a new tactile instrument. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Indeed!

Seriously nufflink, set yourself up selling touchscreens and this plug. It's freaking out of sight. A whole 'nother level! Did I say thanks?

How is that done in Live 5? Not like with CS, that's for sure.
Live 5's Chord, Scale or Arp do not have a comprehensive set of chords like CS. I actually find Live 5's mid FX plugins disappointing and limited. Give me a full set of chords and arps like FLS.

No, the chords and velocities are defined in Chordspace, and the arpeggiation is defined by Live's Arpeggiator plug. I have a really cool one set up with two chained Arpeggiator modules so a fast, complex arp is played when pressing, and a slower rhythmic one is held when you let go.

I'm sure FL arps are great, but Live's work for me. Especially with Chordspace.

Can you illustrate this for me. Sorry but I don't understand.

Chordspace has essentially two modes: with the arp off, and with it on. I'm leaving it off. So CS is outputting just midi chords.

I then route the CS output into another track in Live that has an arp plugin, so the arp plug then takes the chords and applies the pattern and out comes wonderful arpeggiated chords.
