Interesting. I hope the new Imap just extends the existing scheme, and won't cause everyone to have to relearn what they already know! Anyway, if I want to use a drum pattern editor, are there any with good support for the Imap? For example, maybe the "kick drum" line randomly triggers one of the several kick drum sounds?
Most drum pattern editors I've found are geared toward either using wav-based individual samples, or General MIDI. Any recommendations would be great...

Look into Energy XT as it might be able to do some fancy stuff. FL Studio perhaps as well. I am not sure because I just play those things from the fingers so the variation is deliberate and controlled rather than random.
The extended IMap 2 has Imap 1 within it. It just has more keys assigned to more drum and cymbal samples. The original IMap was designed when ram was more of an issue and it was overkill to have two edge rides and two bell rides all ringing out etc. Now that is not as big an issue so for our more deluxe drum collections coming we're putting more samples across the keyboard and it makes a lot of sense. I am playing an example of that new map in the camera video links.
