Breakbeat-paradise, nice stuff indeed. MP3 quality, I don´t care to much ! In the 38 years of music, most of the time we had to work with lots of lesser quality ! I have never seen Tanoy monitors in any living room !

You could convert the sounds down to 8bit in your wave editor.Hypertone wrote:mp3 quality sucks. Anyone know where I can get a plug to make my beats sound like a vintage 8bit sampler?

HI
Well I downloaded a load of stuff and batch converted the lot in Adobe Audition to Wav files - I think if the sampling is done well (which on these it is) then the quality is OK.
Jokes aside I never had a problem with 8 bit!

Original flipper. Don't know if you're joking but what is lost is for ever lost. You can even convert them to 128 bit 492 khz audio but you will always have all these high and low frequencies truncated and these psychoacoustics artefacts that belong to mp3.
I think it really sucks to convert samples to mp3. It's useless. If the "leaving room speakers" are the final goal all in all, it's still better to start from the best quality, isn't it?

HI
I merely stated that I converted them to a usable format - WAV files.
I also said that the 'Quality' of the samples is OK, I am not saying that MP3's are good or bad I am simply saying (for my use) that the 'Quality' is useable.
I really don't get roused by format, sampling rate ect - I listen to something and if I can use it - that will do!

Are you using loops straight out of the box? I never do, so I don't give a damn whether it's MP3. I'd only prefer OGG because MP3 requires manual adjustments before you can use a loop. But then, I'll recycle all loops anyways.

HI
Who? - Me?
I quite often use a loop as a starting point, being into D&B I generally play around with most loops to the point where they end up unrecognisable, with an MP3 - I don't care if it is loosing dynamics - I will add (for instance) a filtered hi-hat in to add sparkle or whatever.
Everything has a use.

No, I've been refering to the people complaining about the MP3 format.original flipper wrote: Who? - Me?
