Voters are influenced?

Very good song - but I don´t vote for his track because he gave bad review(s) to my song(s)

I only vote for the quality of the song - nothing else influences me

subjectively speaking: awfully cheesy... i wouldn't vote for that... :help:

as far as i'm concerned i don't really need obvious boom tchac drums behind the music to know when moving the feet.
Gotta agree with both of those.. I'd far sooner be found dancing to Barnadine's piece than that muck :hihi:

And yeah.. With rhythm, less is often more :)
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

conversely, I often opt to leave the melody out of my tracks...

I wouldn't be caught dancing to it either.

Nah, I meant in terms of drum arrangements... Just a few well chosen beats is all it takes, as you demonstrate well. Clutter can often detract from the funk. And leaving the melody out is the 'less is more' philosophy in action. :)

I've taken to this philosophy with great enthusiasm, and most of my latest work has absolutely nothing in it at all.

Wopelka: cheesy.....
well hello.... did i say "look, now this is great". Nope, I don't know much about Tango so I just searched Google quickly for some dancable Tango and this was the first thing that came up. Not much Tango on the internet I'm afraid. I don't think "moonlight tango" is great but it's definitely more danceable imo.
But as Youtm said, you can dance to anything so I suppose I can't argue with that. An ambient track could have won then.

And in regards to "music to dance to" doesn't have to be techno/DnB etc. I'd say tunes like Bitshifts or Guitarjeff's are very danceable but not techno/DnB. Very groovy stuff.

cool, do you still do those cheesy fadeouts at the end?

As much as I love barnadines track... It didn't get me number 1 spot because I didn't find it that danceable.. even as a tango... the change in tempo and the small break before the 2nd and 3rd verse would make it impossible for ball room dancing...

but I still voted it for cause I really like it.. and as I said in my short reviews... it would have got first if I was more danceable.

whaddya mean "still"?

actually I prefer to surprise the listener with a false ending.

*edit* just set myself up for a major quote-buggering there...

okay good point, I have only heard a couple of your tracks, and they had instruments in and stuff like that.

you mean you've not heard my entirely silent triple album?

It's a pretty hefty download, mind.
