Hi all,

I just completed version 0.1 of my guitar amp emulator, the CrunchDude. Image

Yes, I know, yet another guitar amp plugin... 8)

Here it is: http://heebcomponents.net/CrunchDude/Se ... e_v0.1.exe

<edit>
For those among you who fear .exe's: http://heebcomponents.net/CrunchDude/He ... e_v0.1.zip
</edit>

This version is released as freeware. I hope you like it!

If there are any problems, please let me know!
If you like it, let me know!
If you don't like it, tell me why!

Built with SynthEdit.

Heeb.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I kinda doubt anyone's going to download an .exe file from someone with such a low post count. You should make this plug avilable as an archived .dll file and you'd probably see much more interest in your amp sim.

ciao,
D

This is an interesting piece of work in deed! It definately stands out from the crowd with its unique character. For me it might be useful for adding some vintage- or lofi-color to my acoustic guitars. I didn't manage to get a useful hi-gain lead guitar-sound out of it though. The GUI looks a little too much SynthEdit for my taste... And I think the input meter should rather monitor the filtered input level instead, to be useful.

Anyway, thanks a lot! Keep up your work with this one, it sounds really promising!
(At least for my own personal needs) :)

good work debutant heeb, i really like optics and sound. maybe some patches would come handy. but we have our expert patchdoctors here.

I just took my strat clone (brand: shot) from the college days pluged it in and played: it rocks

A .zip with just the .dll (well, license.txt and readme.txt are also included) is now available here:

Enjoy,

hey sickle: what about viruses in the .dlls? do you know you can launch any shell command from a vst plugin? That includes spying, deleting etc. You could format a harddrive from there. If you like paranoia then also fear the .dlls. I just tought I let you know :wink:

heebs stuff is clean, I checked it out!

Hi Henke,

thanx for the kind words!

Well, it's CrunchDude... But I might make a back-panel, on which you can adjust the maximum gain of the pre-amps, among other things.

Are you driving the pre-amps enough? I also would keep the eq settings pretty high (it's a passive eq).

Well, version 0.1... I concentrated on sound more than loox to start with. Maybe v0.2 will look flashier!

Ah, I'll think about that. Let's see what others say.
