I just acquired a Yamaha CS-15.

It sure is cool, but it will need some work.

Where would one send such a thing for servicing?

Would an authorized dealer be able to help, as it is from the late 70's and obviously no longer made?

Any other helpful hints??

Please?

No, actually. :hihi:

Mine is in prtty good condition as well, really. In fact it looks pristine. I think it just needs a good internal cleaning, like anything that has been in storage for 10+ years would.

I just am afraid to do it on my own, as my experience with hardware synths is very, very limited.

I love my cs-15 to death - honestly, hands down my favorite monosynth that I have :D

dunno about cleaning it, but I'd follow those links and see what they turn up :)

yeah, i had a CS15 which I acquired in exchange for a C64! It was my first synth, and I used to play it live, reprogramming on-the-fly. The only thing I ever thought it lacked were self-oscillating filters, like all the CS series.

Mine was nicked from our rehearsal room in Liverpool (joining my 808, quadraverb, a cry-baby etc...). I'd still like to replace it :)

my cs-10 doesnt selfoscillate...

Take it down to Good Guys, John- they're on Grand in St. Paul. They're excellent with old synths, as well as tube amp mods and repairs...
